Last night I was watching TV and a commercial broke through the clutter and grabbed my attention. Actually, it had the full attention of everyone in the room. The commercial was for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). You may have seen it. It features the song “Angel” by Sarah McLachlan.

A thought popped into my head this week. Intrigued, but not necessarily excited, at the thought, I asked a few friends if they could imagine this thought coming to fruition. I’d say about half of my friends said sure, this could happen and the other half said no way.

Every year, I look forward to watching the Slam Dunk and 3-point contests that take place on NBA All-Star weekend. In recent years, other contests have been added in efforts to drum up excitement, like the skills challenge and 2-ball. But not until 2009 did the NBA get logical and decide to have NBA stars playing “horse.”
